YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas Community Outreach

By its very mission, the YMCA builds strong kids, strong families and strong communities. Community-building efforts can take different forms at different branches, but always they include the opportunity to volunteer on a board, contribute to a fund-raising effort, and in some cases, to volunteer directly in programs like youth sports. The YMCA is also a meeting place where its local community comes together. Whether building community by bringing people together or by reaching out to meet a specific community need, the YMCA builds strong communities every day.

Scholarships
As part of the YMCAs effort to help youth the Dallas YMCA  through the YMCA of  Metropolitan Dallas Foundation offers a scholarship program for graduating high school seniors living in the Dallas area.   Selections are based on college entrance exam scores, high school grades, financial circumstances, community service, and the individual's personal motivation and desire for furthering his/her education.  Students have an opportunity to receive renewable scholarships up to $3,000 per year for four years.
